Safety:
Safety is of the most importance to us, as we are all mother's as well. We understand we are traveling with precious gems and for many of them it is their first time away from home. This is why we give out our cell phone numbers and are available 24/7. We have students check in with their families on a daily basis and encourage them to send pictures home if they have the capabilities.
At night in the hotel there is securtiy guards that have been through tough security checks. They are up all night in the hallways to make sure no one sneaks out at night and that no one gets in.
Highlands began student educational travel trips in 2009 when we took a group of students to the Presidential Inauguration. Since then we have been back to Washington D.C., Philadelphia, Gettysburg, Jamestown, and Collonian Williamsburg. This year we will venture into Science with our Science in Motion trip.
